Selena was born in the land of Greece in a small village called
Leridian. She was raised by her parents, her two brothers and her
sister.
As a child, she listened to stories that her
mother would tell her of a tribe of warrior women that lived far
from their village.
Charis would describe in great detail the people and their ranks.
The way she talked, it was as if she knew these women personally.
Especially so whenever she spoke about one warrior called Fedora,
who she seemed to remember with particular reverence.
Upon her twelfth birthday, her mother admitted that she actually
belonged to the tribe in her stories, but that she was banished.
Mysteriously, Charis wouldn’t speak of how or why, but she she
made her youngest promise her that if anything was ever to happen
to her that she would return to the tribe and tell Fedora of her
death.
Selena gave her word, not knowing that in the years to come she
would have to keep it.
On her fifteenth birthday, Selena was in the woods and deiced to
head home for supper. She was met with the smoldering ashes of her
home and not a living thing in sight. She found her mother dead
outside their homestead and hours later she found her older sister
Althea, also dead.
Shortly after, Selena was knocked unconscious and when she woke,
she could not remember anything of the events that day. The only
thing she could recall was the word: Amazon.
Driven by that word, Selena began wandering the land without any
real chart or plan. After only days of traveling, she quickly
learned to avoid the roads and the thieves that roamed them. Using
the trees as coverage she made her way north where she ended up in
Thrace.
After overhearing two women talking in a tavern on the edge of
Thrace, she decided to follow them but was caught. Their names
were Xena and Gabrielle.
After explaining to them what she did remember, somehow feeling
she could trust the pair, they took her to Themiscyra.
Selena arrived in Themiscyra on her sixteenth
birthday. Finally learning what home actually was.
Many things from Selena’s past caught up to her: Her brother
arrived on a supply ship and revealed her past to her. She
discovered that one of her fellow athelfi was her blood related
cousin. She finally journeyed to Leridian where she said goodbye
to her dying father and fell in love with a villager. Her lover
was lost in a fishing accident and she returned home to Themiscyra
once more where she found she was with child.
She bore a beautiful baby girl whom she named Sinead. The child
has her father’s dark eyes and ruddy red hair that shines brown
in the sun. Her skin has the same slightly olive tone as her
father’s.
Selena stands at
5’
4”
with light hazel eyes and with locks of light red hair running
down to her waist. She is slim but toned with muscles in her
abdomens and her forearms.
Her typical attire consists of a thigh length skirt, a short
sleeve top in summer and a long sleeved one in winter. Also
depending on the weather she either wears sandals or boots.
It was rumored, but not confirmed, that Selena had some Celtic
blood in her from her mother’s side of the family.
She likes to make friends, is willing to learn anything new,
listen to others, and loves nature. Her totem animal is a stag.
Selena uses the staff and sais. She rides a silver mustang named
Andra. Selena speaks Greek.
