Selena was born in the land of Greece in a village called Leridian. Her parents, two brothers, and a sister raised her. As a child, Selena listened to her mother, Charis, tell her stories of warrior women who lived a long way from Leridian. Charis would describe in great detail the people and their ranks in the tribe. It was as if she knew these women personally, as if they were her friends- especially when her mother spoke fondly of a warrior called Fedora.

When Selena turned twelve, she learned that mother was an Amazon who'd been banished from her tribe. Mysteriously, Charis wouldn't speak of why or how, but she told her youngest daughter that if anything happened to her or the family, Selena should return to the tribe and tell Fedora of her death. Selena promised she would do this, never knowing that in the years she'd have to keep her word.

On her fifteenth birthday, Selena wandered in the woods and enjoyed the nature around her. She returned home for supper to find that her village had been burned to the ground, no one left alive. Selena found her mother dead on the ground outside their home and hours later was only able to find her older sister, Althea. The only thing Selena remembers from that day is one word. One word that stayed in her mind: Amazon. She can't remember anything else of the events that happened that terrible day, for she was knocked unconscious and ability to recall.

Driven by the power of that one word, Selena wandered the land without any real chart or plan. Days of travel taught her to stick clear of the roads and of thieves that traveled on them. Using the trees for cover, she made her way north where she ended up in Thrace.

For the most part, Selena learned how to survive in the wilderness by herself. She knew which berries were safe to eat and which were unsafe. Avoiding trouble as much as possible, she learned to defend herself if she did get in a bad spot. Merely fifteen, Selena taught herself how to survive the harsh nights and the horrifying dreams she had.

She finally stopped in a small tavern on the edge of Thrace where Selena overheard two women talking about Amazons. She decided to follow them, determined to find out what this one word that she remembered and what these two women had to do with it. She tried to follow them in the trees but the warrior woman caught her. Their names were Xena and Gabrielle.

She explained to Xena and Gabrielle all that she remembered or what she thought happened, somehow feeling she could trust the pair. She traveled with them for a while, telling them of her experiences. Selena grew fond of Gabrielle, listening to the bard tell her stories and exchanging her own.

On her sixteenth birthday, they arrived at Themiscyra. Selena was delighted to finally find out what the one word she remembered was all about. And that is when she met the Amazon nation- the place she now calls home.

Selena has now lived in Themiscyra for many moons. The events that have taken place in Themiscyra have been a few personal leaps of faith that have made her friendship with other Athelfi's stronger.

One night, Selena left a candle burning in her hut and during a nightmare, knocked it over setting her hut ablaze. Luckily for her, Valkyra was nearby, otherwise she might not have survived. After recovering in the Med Hut she was offered to share with Samsara Athanase and her hut mate, Keturah Archila Cassia.

Selena doesn't like her past, so when her brother showed up on one of the trading vessels that were visiting Themiscyra, it was another part of her past she had to confront, and didn't want to. When Leon, Selena's brother, was seen trying to get Selena to leave with him, he was reported to his captain. Leon told the whole story of what had happened to his mother and younger sister and told him that he had set out to find Selena, being the youngest of the family and very close.

The captain then took Leon's story to Queen Valkyra where Selena heard Leon out. After discovering that what he was saying was true, they were reunited and spent the next few days together talking about her past. On Leon's last night, he asked Selena to meet him by the trading ships. Selena did as she was asked and he took her into the forest, he then gave her their mother's necklace. It was a golden necklace that was centered on a high moon with a distinct engraving of a star at its point and hung from a bullion chain. The cloth it came in carried her mother's name and a message sewn to the material in Tae'Nah.

The events that followed were much similar, after a stranger stumbled before her on a walk along the Thermadon and had directly asked for another Amazon, Latrina. Selena overheard them talking and discovered that not only was the stranger her aunt Fedora but her Athelfi Latrina was her cousin. The three of them returned back to Sibyls for Latrina to reclaim her rightful place as Queen.

After they returned home Selena was yet again whisked away by her brother back to the village she grew up in. Selena's father was dying and she wanted to see him one last time before he passed on. On this return not only did she meet her other brother, his wife and her niece but she fell for one of the men in the village, Ciro. Unfortunately one day when he was out on a fishing trip with some of the other men, he slipped on some ice and fell into a fast flowing river and hit his head. He was dead by the time he arrived home.

Selena left distraught and halfway back to Themiscyra bumped into Clymene, Leonie and Xena who themselves were on the way back home. Although she was grieving, a few weeks later she discovered she was with child and this brought her spirits up to something to look forward to. She gave birth to a beautiful little girl who she called Sinead. Who has her father's dark eyes, her hair is a ruddy red and shines brown in the sun, her skin pigmentation is much like her father's and has a slightly olive tone to it now.

Selena stands at 5' 4" with light hazel eyes and with locks of light red hair running down to her waist. It was rumored, but not confirmed, that Selena has some Celtic blood in her from her mother's side of the family. Selena is slim but toned with muscles in her abdomen and her forearms. Her typical attire consists of a thigh length skirt, a short sleeve top in summer and a long sleeved one in winter. Also depending on the weather she either wears sandals or boots. She likes to make friends, is willing to learn anything new, listen to others, and loves nature. Her totem animals is a stag.

Selena uses the staff and the sais. She rides a silver mustang named Andra who has a black nose, mane, tail and legs. Selena speaks Greek.
